We couldn’t resist posting this. It’s part of a calendar originally published by the Japanese men’s magazine Heibon Punch. We’ve seen the image in several places, but we suspect it originated at the website bullesdejapon. Riding without any protective gear whatsoever is Ayako Uzimetai, aka Megi Ayako, et.al., who appeared in the Nikkatsu flicks Red Assault, and Tokyo Eros: Thousand and One Nights. This shot is from 1980.

Above are nine vintage Japanese pinku posters from our large collection, for films featuring that scourge of evil men everywhere—Reiko Ike. These are circa 1971 to 1974, and they are, top to bottom, 1: Sukeban burûsu: Mesubachi no gyakushû, aka Girl Boss Blues: Queen Bee’s Counterattack; 2 & 3: Sukeban: Taiman shobu, aka, Girl Boss: Mano a Mano; 4: Black Leopard M (we don’t know the Japanese title for that one); 5 & 6: Kyôfu joshikôkô: bôkô rinchi kyôshitsu, aka Terrifying Girls’ High School: Lynch Law Classroom; 7: a rare and valuable round poster for Sukeban, aka Girl Boss Revenge; 8: Sukeban gerira, aka Girl Boss Guerilla; 9: Furyo bancho: Norainu kidotai, aka Wolves of the City: Alley Dog Commando.
A quick word about the last one: that is Reiko Ike on the poster, with a machine gun at lower right. We’ve seen this debated on a couple of websites, but there’s no debate—it’s her, beauty mark next to her mouth and all. Besides, her name is on the poster, left column, fifth line. We’ll have more Reiko Ike posters down the line (no, we haven’t run out yet), and we’ll upload promos from other pinku stars as well. To see our entire Reiko Ike collection, click here. Also, we still have some very provocative posters of pinku stars Miki Sugimoto, Naomi Tani, Meg Flower and others that have never appeared online before, as far as we know. We promise we will get those up soon-ish.

This is the poster on which yesterday’s high-kicking image of Rika Aoki found a home, promoting Konketsuji Rika, aka Rika the Mixed-Blood Girl. In the film Aoki is the offspring of one of the American G.I.s who raped her mother, suffers the loss of her own virginity to a rapist, and is a product of constant physical abuse. Thus we have the two crucial ingredients needed for a pinku movie: a woman who really hates men, and men who really deserve whatever she does to them. The plot behind all the bloody mayhem involves her trying to save her gang of delinquent girls, who have been captured by crooks planning to sell them as sex slaves to American soldiers in Vietnam. Aoki gives a game performance, but she doesn’t radiate the pure heat a movie like this could use at its center. However, she does have the physical size needed to make her destruction of the evil men seem realistic, and in general the movie has enough blood, bullets, blades, and girl-fights to please fans of the genre. As a bonus for fashionistas, Aoki wears some sick jumpsuits. But if you dress like her, you better be able to kick ass. Konketsuji Rika, which was based on a manga comic and is the first film of what would become a trilogy, premiered in Japan this month in 1972.

This great image of pinku actress Rika Aoki was featured on the poster for her first movie, 1972’s Konketsuji Rika, which for its English language release was called Rika the Mixed-Blood Girl. With a title like that we couldn’t pass it up, so we’ve located a copy and we’re watching it tonight. We’ll report back tomorrow.

Above is a nice poster for the Japanese actioner Hijirimen bakuto, aka Red Silk Gambler. Set about a hundred years in the past, this one is more of a samurai flick than a typical pinku, but whatever it is, it’s beautifully shot by director Teruo Ishii and cinematographer Shigeru Akatsuka. It stars Hiroko Fuji as the titular gambler, and co-stars Reiichi Hatanaka, Yoko Horikoshi, and the indispensable Reiko Ike. Check the great screen caps we posted below. Hijirimen bakuto premiered in Japan today in 1972.

Above is one of our random Japanese posters. This one is pretty easy to figure out. It says “woman” “and” “tongue,” so we’re thinking the title is Woman’s Tongue. From there it’s smooth sailing. Plugging that title into a search engine, we found a reference on a Japanese website telling us it was released in 1969 and starred Noriko Tatsumi. She doesn’t seem to star on the poster, unless our eyes are going, but we recognize her name at lower left, so we know the website we consulted is correct. Anyway, the poster rocks, so we thought we’d share.

Above is a nice panel length poster for 1972’s Sukeban berûsu: mesubachi no chosen, aka Girl Boss Blues: Queen Bee’s Challenge, the second entry in the Girl Boss series made by Toei Studios in the early 1970s. This one stars Reiko Ike (before the tattoo), along with Chiyoko Kazama, and Miki Sugimoto in an appearance just lengthy enough for her to get a couple of bottles of cola sprayed up her ya-ya. If you can wrest your eyes from the constantly recurring tableaux of perfect skin, there is a plot, and it involves a pair of girl gangsters/bitter rivals captured by a yakuza boss and subjected to various sadistic tortures (including that old Japanese favorite—rope bondage, aka kinbaku-bi). Of course, the abuse in these films is inevitably followed by much deserved revenge against the evil males, up close and bloody. But it isn’t all violence and vengeance. There are some effective moments of comedy, and of course, the film is beautifully shot. All-in-all, Sukeban berûsu: mesubachi no chosen is a must-see for pinku fans. You’ll learn exactly how effective a handful of soap foam can be for covering a woman’s bush.

A while back we shared a pair of wonderfully summery promo images featuring Japanese actress Terumi Azuma, and today we have a poster for one of her films. As usual, no western release means no official English title, but very roughly it’s Get Wet and Stand. That’s not particularly illuminating, we know, but until we see the movie ourselves, that’s all the info we can offer. That and the fact that it was made in 1976 by Nikkatsu Studios as part of its softcore roman porno collection, it’s based on the writings of a novelist who calls himself I. Hong, and it’s a comedy. Speaking of moisture, see below.

(Maruhi) shikijô mesu, aka Secret Chronicle: She Beast Market is the third installment of Nikkatsu Studios’ prostitution-centered trilogy that began with Maruhi: joro ichiba (Prostitution Market) and continued with (Maruhi) jorô seme jigoku (ProstituteTorture Hell). This one was directed by Noboru Tanaka and stars Meika Seri as an Osaka prostie trying to survive her difficult profession and dysfunctional relatives. Some highlights (or lowlights) include one character killing another using a love doll inflated with explosive gas, Seri sexually indulging her mentally impaired younger brother, and the brother later doing what can best be described as choking the chicken (literally). In other words, it’s trademark Nikkatsu craziness, often disturbing but beautifully shot in both color and b&w. (Maruhi) shikijô mesu premiered in Japan today in 1974.

In terms of sheer popularity, Christina Lindberg and Reiko Ike are a pinku dream pairing, but unfortunately they only acted in one film together, 1973’s Furyô anego den: Inoshika Ochô aka Sex & Fury. The above promo shot from that film caught Lindberg with her eyes half closed, but it’s worth seeing even if it’s a bit of an oops moment. You can see two Sex & Fury posters here.
