James Meese painted this cover for Richard S. Prather’s Dagger of Flesh for Crest Books’ 1956 edition of what is an entry in the long-running Shell Scott series, and it’s an appropriate piece for a tale in which hypnosis and post-hypnotic suggestion are the villain’s main weapons. As a bonus, it fits into our collection of knives and daggers in midcentury paperback art, which is here. You can see the 1952 Falcon Books edition of this novel with Rudy Nappi art here.
