This is not the only dead clown cover we’ve posted. Sadly—womp womp—there’s another here. And it’s essentially the same one. The Spanish creator of that one basically added a teardrop, a different bowtie, green hair, and an eyesore of a jacket to the Ed Meese clown above. We have a question. Considering how many children are scared of clowns, and how many adults are phobic about them, why does clowning survive? Well, it didn’t in Stuart Palmer’s 1956 mystery Unhappy Hooligan. The book is set in a circus, and is part of Palmer’s fourteen novel series featuring sleuth Hildegarde Withers. We may try one of the Withers books later.
