In mid-century fiction there’s an entire sub-genre of nurse novels, and this should be considered an offshoot. But it’s basically the same idea whether nurse or doctor—woman in male dominated profession must show her skill and mettle, winning over skeptics, and usually finding true love along the way. The rear cover gives you a sense of these themes, though obviously the main character doesn’t dish out prostate exams. But it would be funny if she did. Copyright 1955, with uncredited art.
