Intrigo internazionale is better known as North by Northwest. We’ve gathered up three insert promo posters, including the top one by Enzo Nistri. Cary Grant plays a man named Roger Thornhill who’s thought by bad men to be someone named George Kaplan. He’s soon on the run, wanted for a murder he didn’t commit, and left with few allies apart from his mother. Yeah—he lets his mother get dragged into it. Since it’s an Alfred Hitchcock movie, there isn’t anything new we can tell you. It’s all been written. It’s a Hitchcock—full stop. Weird, wonky, grandiose, so deeply of its time that some parts don’t work for modern audiences, but still, always, a good evening of cinema. It opened in Italy at the Venice Film Festival today in 1959.
