U.S. actress Marsha Hunt shows a Hepburnian level of thinness in this 1945 promo image, which again goes to show not all vintage actresses were weightier than today. They varied. We’ve had a look at Hunt in Take One False Step and Mary Ryan, Detective, but she made other pulp-appropriate movies, including Murder Goes to College, Star Reporter, Cry Havoc, and many more. She had a brilliant career. However, she was yet another Hollywood performer blacklisted for alleged communist associations, though she managed to outlast the reactionaries and generate more than one hundred credited film and television roles. In addition, she generated more than a hundred years, living to be 104. Considering the cigarette thing, that’s defying the odds bigtime. See another photo of her here.
