Posters, lobby cards, book jackets, record sleeves, and other thumbnails of art pieces on Pulp International are downgraded versions of original art and are presented for review, critique, educational purposes, or parody, with the goal of promoting consumption of these materials. Reviews and critiques, even those of a negative nature, are understood to have the effect of promoting critiqued artwork. As such, all thumbnails appearing on Pulp International are used within a fair use context, and each image remains copyrighted by its artist, photographer or publisher.
Photographs of actors, actresses, authors and artists are culled from promotional materials, which were originally produced for use by non-copyright holders to publicize the subjects of the images, or the parent work in which the subjects appear. As such, these photographs are used within a fair use context, in an effort to publicize the subjects, or review, critique, parody or promote the parent work in which the subjects appear. These images remain copyrighted solely by their photographers or publishers.
Other images appearing on Pulp International are altered versions of originals, or, to the best of our knowledge, exist within the public domain.
